AUSTRALIAN
ECO HOLIDAYS (Elena Dinu)
Australia has some of the world's most
variate natural environments, with unique wildlife, and spectacular
landscapes, including many national parks and World Heritage Areas.
In these areas you can get very close
to australian native plants and animals, explore wide open spaces and
discover ancient rainforests on the fringe of modern cities.
Ningaloo Marine
Park, is one of Australia's protected areas. Is a peaceful and
ecologic place where you can go for a holiday.
Ningaloo Marine Park, is home to 250
species of coral and over 500 species of fish, and one of the world’s
largest reefs, stretching for 260 kilometres off Western Australia’s
north coast.
Here you can swim with the whale
sharks, the world’s largest fish, see rare turtle species,
migrating whales and visit remote sites with dugongs and turtles.
You can stay in Exmouth, where you can
hire a car, join an eco safari or a fishing tour, learn to surf or
ride the reef breaks. Back in town, you’ll find accommodation to
suit all budgets, from apartments to campsites.
Join a day tour to the peaceful Muiron
Islands, classic desert islands with tropical waters with marine life
and coral reefs. Dive or snorkel, laze on a deserted beach or get
permission to camp overnight. It doesn't matter where you are from,
Ningaloo has a piece of underwater Eden for
you.
EUROPE:
STOCKHOLM (Marika Grisendi)
In 2010
Stockholm was the first European Green Capital. The city has invested
in eco-friendly transport, underground, trains and trams are
electric.
Stockholm
is a compact city and its investment in pedestrian and cycle paths
makes it easy to get from one city district to another on foot or by
bike.
There
are also excellent opportunities for renting bicycles and if
you really want to go by car, go by eco-car: it's better!
“Hammarby Sjöstad” is Stockholm’s
largest urban construction project. When completed in 2017, 26,000
people will be living here. The district has been planned using an
eco-cycle project and is intended to show ecological way to live.
Swedes are conscientious about
recycling. The target of including 90 per cent of all aluminum cans
and PET bottles in the recycling system is close to being reached.
Also others materials are being recycled to
protect the environment.
Asia has a
diverse environment which is under pressure from population growth,
economic development and climate change. The region now faces a
number of challenges including deforestation, desertification and
loss of biodiversity, air and water pollution.
Calauit
Safari Park is a natural reserve and wildlife sanctuary located in
Calauit Island.
It
is known for its wildlife with a substantial population of African
animals, including giraffes, zebras, and antelopes, and fauna that
roams freely in the reserve, created by President Ferdinand Marcos in
the 1970s.
Marine
habitat is said to have been haven to the dugong, sea turtles, giant
clams, coral reefs and for commercial fish species as well.
Access
is possible by vehicle or by foot. Small rivers and creeks abound on
the island, although most of these water sources dry up during hot
months.
The
Calauit Island lies in the Northwestern coast of Palawan, and was
declared a game preserve and wildlife sanctuary in 1977. This
natural
reserves applies all the criteria of
eco - sustainable developement
and is a great place
where you can go for a holiday.
